A Stratford firm, not a franchise

Every move is a small upheaval, and the town we work in makes them particular — timber-framed cottages with staircases built for smaller centuries, lanes the satnav insists a lorry can take, second homes waiting in the French sun. We have carried enough Warwickshire households, near and far, to know that the job is half muscle and half planning. We bring both, and we tell you in writing what your move will involve before we lift a thing.

How a move runs

The almanac of a Stratford move

Five entries, in order. No day counts, no promises we can’t keep — just the shape of how we work.

  1. 01

    Survey

We look at the job — access, stairs, the awkward pieces — and quote in writing. No figure before we understand it.

  2. 02

    Pack

As much or as little as you like, to a standard that suits the distance the load has to travel.

  3. 03

    Carry

The right vehicle for the lane, protection for beams and floors, and hands that have done it a thousand times.

  4. 04

    Cross

For moves abroad: the crossing, the customs inventory and the long drive or sea leg, planned around your address.

  5. 05

    Settle

Room-by-room labelling so the far end unpacks in the order it packed. Then we’re gone, and you’re home.

Why Stratford households choose us

Careful is not a slogan here

We know the ground

The one-way system, the market-day closures, the cottages with a turn on the stairs no mattress should fit round. Local knowledge saves your move time and your walls a scrape.

One firm, start to finish

The person who quotes your move is the person you speak to as it runs. No call-centre, no being passed between departments once the lorry is loaded.

Written, never guessed

We don’t read a number off a screen before we’ve seen the job. You get a quote in writing that reflects your actual move — abroad or across town.

In their words

What the neighbours say

Representative of the moves we run. Real reviews, collected with consent, replace these as they come in.

“Our cottage off Rother Street has a staircase that has defeated better men than me. The lads had the wardrobe up it without a mark on the wall or the banister. Calm, careful, done.”
Margaret H. Stratford-upon-Avon — Three-bed cottage, town centre
“We moved the whole house to the Dordogne and I had braced myself for chaos. The customs list was done properly, the driver rang from the ferry, and everything arrived in the same order it left. I would not do it any other way now.”
David & Ceri P. Wellesbourne to south-west France — Full household to France
“Downsizing after forty years in the same house is a horrible job and they were kind about it. Nothing was too much trouble, they stored the boxes we could not fit until we knew what we were keeping.”
Brian T. Alcester — Downsizing move with storage

A few questions, answered

Which areas around Stratford-upon-Avon do you cover?

We are based in Stratford-upon-Avon and cover the town and its surrounding Warwickshire villages — Shottery, Tiddington, Wellesbourne, Alcester, Henley-in-Arden, Shipston-on-Stour, Bidford-on-Avon and out towards Warwick. For moves abroad we collect from across the wider Midlands as well.

How do I get a quote, and will you give me a figure over the phone?

Fill in the quote form with the basics of your move, or call us. We do not read out a number before we understand the job — that way lies the sort of estimate that changes on the day. Instead we take your details, talk through anything unusual, and send you a written quote you can rely on.

Do you pack, or is that extra work I arrange myself?

We pack as much or as little as you like. Some customers want a full packing service down to the last picture frame; others box the everyday things themselves and leave us the awkward, fragile and heavy items. Tell us which suits you and we will price the move accordingly.

Can you handle a period cottage — narrow stairs, low beams, tight lanes?

That is much of what we do here. Stratford and its villages are full of listed cottages, timber-framed houses and lanes a large lorry cannot reach. We assess access when we quote, bring the right vehicle and equipment, and protect original features — beams, flagstones, staircases — as we work.
